An almanac about the commemorative days of the Swedish community, important historical events and our traditional festivals and celebrations.
Now you can order Allmogens Almanacka 2021! This week I will pick up 150 kg of almanacs from the printer, and together with my wife I will immediately start packing and sending them all over the country to those who ordered them. New this year? More memorable events, people and celebrations have been added, and the production has been brought home to Sweden and Ångermanland!
Moreover, in addition to supporting us on Allmogens in our free and independent public education work on Swedish history and culture, 10 SEK per sold almanac goes to Culture bonus - our new support for non-profit efforts to preserve our tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
I will write more in the future about my thoughts and plans regarding this support. From the name you can guess that I was inspired by the business chain Naturkompaniet's great way of giving back to the outdoors and nature through something they call Naturbonusen.
Sure, it will be a modest support given the modest number of almanacs being printed at the moment, but you have to start somewhere. 🙂 500 almanacs today. 50,000 tomorrow?
Nominations for the bonus will take place in 2021, but you are already welcome to start thinking about which organisation, association, project or person you would like to nominate for the Culture Bonus 2021.
