This historical map shows our two largest lakes in Sweden, Lake Vänern and Lake Vättern, with their surrounding landscapes. The map was published in 1774 by the surveyor Nils Morelius at the Lantmäteriet and shows, according to the text on the map, "the location as well as the lakes and streams which serve to establish sailing between Gothenburg on the West Sea to Norrköping or Söderköping on the Baltic Sea".
