A beautiful, historical map of Dalarna published in 1762. The landscape of Dalarna, Latin Dalecarlia, is located in the inland of northern Svealand and has a proud history and rich local culture. The oldest mention of Dalarna is from the Saga of Sweden, where the region was called Järnbäraland. Dalarna was then described as a pagan country under the rule of the Swabian king in 1177.
