John Bauer's painting Still Tuvstarr sits and looks down into the water (1913) depicts Princess Tuvstarr kneeling by a forest star and looking down into the water, having set out into the world under the protection of Skutt the moose. The painting was made for Helge Kjellin's fairy tale The story of Skutt the moose and the little princess Tuvstarr i Among gnomes and trolls, and has over time become far more famous than the story itself.
